This Privacy Statement explains what information we collect about you, how we may us it , and the steps we take to ensure that it is kept secure.  It also explains your rights and how to contact us.  This privacy statement only covers the One2One Companionship website.  Other links within this site to other websites are not covered by this statement and you are encouraged to read the privacy statements on the other websites you visit.

What type of information we have:

We currently collect and process the following information,

Name, Address, Date of Birth, Interests, Family member contact numbers, details of any relevant professional involved in your continues support i.e. Doctor & social worker, mileage and route planners

 

How we get the information and why we have it:

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

Information that is collected is required in order for One2One Companionship to provide the best possible service by,

 

  • Making sure there is a clear understanding of your individual support needs
     

  • To contact/liaise with any other professionals and family members involved in your care (with your permission) such as medication pick up/ordering, booking a doctor’s appointment, updating a social worker of your wellbeing
     

  • Invoice purposes/submitting carer’s vouchers to the local council
     

  • In the case of a goodwill gesture such as sending a Birthday/Christmas card
     

  • Raising a concern or dealing with an emergency

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • Health and Social care professionals involved in your ongoing support
     

  • Family members that require One2One Companionship, via messenger, email and text messages.
     

  • When you visit our website or Facebook page, you may voluntarily complete a customer contact form or provide feedback on any our message boards or via email.  NOTE: Feedback paper forms are anonymous, unless otherwise stated.

 

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information

are:
 

  1. Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting One2One Companionship on 07770497020
     

  2. We have a contractual obligation.
     

  3. We have a legal obligation.
     

  4. We have a vital interest.
     

  5. We need it to perform a public task.

What we do with the information we have:

We use the information that you have given us in order to

 

  • Provide your details to Central Bedfordshire to obtain payment by Carers Vouchers
     

  • We may share this information with relevant organisations when there is a safeguarding/emergency reason to do so.
     

  • Allow one2one companionship to provide the best possible support to meet your needs
        ​

How we store your information:

  • Digital information is securely stored on a memory stick and on OneDrive within our laptop, with added security with passwords and thumb print.
     

  • One2One Companionship stores your information in a locked box file and in a locked luggage bag at all times in a secure home environment. This information includes a daily log explaining what has occurred at each visit.
     

  • We keep all personal details for 90 days after the last visit using One2One Companionship. We will then dispose your information by shredding the data.

 

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:
 

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
     

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
     

  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
     

  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.
     

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
     

  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
     

  • You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
